The history of Saucony sneakers begins in 1898 with the first factory at Saucony Creek in Pennsylvania. In 1910, Russian immigrant Abraham Hyde started a shoe company called Hyde Athletic Industries and quickly made a name for himself with high quality and technical innovations. In the 1960s, Abraham Hyde bought Saucony and Saucony soon became the most famous brand, after which it was decided to rename the company to the current Saucony.
