Etonic, founded in 1876 in Massachusetts, USA. Etonic claims to be the first sports brand worldwide. Furthermore, Etonic is the first brand that had a collaboration with an equivalent brand, namely with Fred Perry. A brand that anticipated the hype of sportswear and collaborations.
'Designed to keep you a step ahead of the pack'
In 2014, Etonic entered into a partnership with NBA star Hakeem Olajuwon. This is where the 'Dream 1 sneaker' was born in the red-yellow colorway, inspired by the color scheme of the Housten Rockets where Hakeem Olajuwon plays. With special features: the OG hangtag and Olajuwon's nickname 'Akeem the Dream' on the tongue. This release breathes new life into Akeem's iconic sneaker from the 80s. This collaboration has put Etonic back on the map now that retro shoes are making a comeback.
As a brand, Etonic has become an indispensable part of the store as a retro sportswear brand, now that sportswear shoes are increasingly seen as lifestyle sneakers.
