When developing the Karhu Trophy package, Karhu was inspired not only by the trophies and symbols of victory, but also by Karhu chairman Franco Arese.
Mr. Arese was a professional track and field athlete specializing in the 1500 meter race. In his heyday he played at the highest level against some of the greatest athletes of his time.
