The Boxing KangaROOS is a German short film from 1895 by the Skladanowsky brothers. A man and a kangaroo face each other wearing boxing gloves and simulating a boxing match on a theater stage. The Skladanowsky brothers were the first filmmakers and this short film is exactly what it says: a boxing kangaroo taking on a man. “Das Boxende Känguruh,” which premiered at the first public projection of films in Germany, is one of the earliest examples of animal behavior on screen.
